Awesome job on the guitar, and BTW, I thought he dressed up as a possum! lol.

The key used in the What If? redux was a little more fitting (but that might be because that was the first version of this song I heard). I definitely like the random slowing of the high-pitched whirring during the drum solo. (Tell me, how many more -ing's could I add to that las sentence?)
All in all, another good song.

Author's Response:

Thanks, it was my first foray into live manipulation. :)
Also, add more -ings, plz.

"Nice work, but"

Your description sounds WAY too much like a Mountain Dew commercial. That's the only thing that scared me about this song. X_X

August 7, 2008

Author's Response:

I see no resemblance between my description and a Mountain Dew commercial. But that's probably because I don't have a TV, nor do I drink said beverage.

Very random (especially the name) and good melodies and harmonies. Also, Oddler, just keep from voting on Under Judgement stuff on the flash portal and you'll be fine.

growing on me

"I loved it on the world's hardest game."

submission: growing on me

I think I'm going to download it... Anyways, I like the high synth at the beginning, and the fact that everything has a phase effect. It loops really well, however, I do have one comment on the bass. At the points where the bass is at its lowest points in the phase (The thickest tone), it sounds like it's saying something. Yes, actual words. It's creepy, cause the thing sounds like it's repeating the words "Golf Channel". I seriously have no idea where it's coming from. Guess it's the way my mind processes it... OR IS IT?!? *DUM DUM DUMMMMMM*

Author's Response:

Hahaha -- I assure you there are absolutely no vocals in this song. After reading your review, though, I always hear what you're talking about. Hehehehehehehe.

Thanks for the review!

[SD] Mystery in Space

"Reminds me of ecco!"

date: April 10, 2008

Part one really sounded like Fault Zone, from Ecco Tides of Time, and part 2 sounded sort of like Two Tides from the same game. Okay, so anyway, the first part was good, I liked the heavy bass. Second part, not so much bass, I didn't like it as much as the first part. For the high octave part, I think it's a little slow. However, it's still 9/10, 5/5, and a dl! Good job.

Woo! Thanks BP. I always appreciate reviews, especially for my original compositions. :)

"Best Ecco remix that I've heard!"

date: March 13, 2008

And I've heard a lot... especially bad ones. This one is really good, though. One thing though... WHERE DID YOU FIND THE WIND EFFECT!?! I... MUST... KNOW!!!!! It's a really great song, and I like the added drums. I'm still hoping to get to hear the original, since I have the game and am trying to figure out the last bad future level ((((HHHAAAARRRRDDDD!!!!)))). It's one of the toughest games I've ever played, and that's... well... HARD. Anyway, great song, and keep up the good work!
PS: I agree with the last guy. Alright? seriously, self-appreciation problem, maybe? This thing was in the weekly top five!

April 18, 2008

Author's Response:

how did you.. KNOW.. it was in the top five? Even I don't remember that!

I mean, sure I hada LOT of songs in the top 5 - I honestly cant rememebr which ones were nemore..

wind effect was on a royalty-free samples site - just hunt around - you'll find one :P

ya I have this game - and it is rather hard..

and ya I have self-esteem issues..

thanks for the review!

(FW) Disco

"What's the FW stand for?"

submission: (FW) Disco
date: March 3, 2008

It's a good song, but i've got a couple of questions about it. 1: What DOES the FW stand for? And 2: Would you PM the author of that Gyro Atoms game to credit you for this song? It's a great song, and I don't think it should go without publicity.

April 1, 2008

Author's Response:

lol It stands for Flashwolf, Thanx for letting me know about the game, i really appreciate it.

I Like to Hit Things

"Its a good song..."

date: March 3, 2008

But, there are some problems. I noticed that the style doesn't change even in the slow parts. It's always staccato, and there's no real change in dynamics, maybe a decrescendo into mezzo piano around 1:00, keeping the bass at the same volume, then at about 1:15 to 1:33 or so, a crescendo to forte with the bass crescendo starting at around 1:23. Near 1:55 to 2:02, decrescendo the treble to mezzo piano and the bass to mezzo forte, then raise the bass to fortissimo at 2:03 and dropping it gradually from 2:18 to piano at 2:30 with the treble dropping to pianissimo around the same point. Then, at 2:36, a crescendo again to fortissimo for both, and at 3:02, make a sfortzando and start Section A again (the happy part) and bring it back up to the original forte. After that, whatever the heck you want to be there. Maybe another key change, possibly a meter change to 3/4 time! Also, I think it belongs where you originally put it: the classical section. There's no real elements of jazz in there (no swing beat, no blues scales, etc.) if you think about it. Great song, and a dl once you finish it!

March 4, 2008

Author's Response:

It's got elements of ragtime...

Anyway, thanks for your comments, dynamics and all that have been noted.
Thanks!
